About Us and the Role
Wainui Golf Course and Function Centre is a vibrant and versatile hospitality venue offering a Restaurant, Bar, Café, and Function Centre, all nestled in the scenic countryside—just 20 minutes from Albany.

We are currently looking for a passionate and ambitious Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. If you're ready to take the next step in your career and support our Head Chef in the smooth day-to-day operation of our kitchen, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be expected to:

  • Work with the Head Chef and culinary team ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes
  • Prepare high-quality cabinet offerings and à la carte meals from our seasonal and function menus
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work environment with strong attention to detail
  • Perform under pressure and multitask in a busy kitchen
  • Adhere to NZFCP and HACCP food safety and hygiene standards
  • Demonstrate a deep passion for food, with strong knowledge of ingredients and flavour combinations
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with the kitchen team, front-of-house staff, management, and guests
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team culture
  • Participate in general kitchen cleaning and hygiene duties
  • Be available for rostered shifts, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays

Skills & Experience
To be considered for this role, you’ll need:

  • The legal right to live and work in New Zealand
  • Hold current New Zealand Drivers License
  • A minimum of 1 years experience as a Chef de Partie
  • A New Zealand Certificate Level 4 or higher in Cookery (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food prep procedures
  • Excellent time management and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with NZFCP and HACCP food safety standards
  • Experience working across all kitchen sections
  • A proactive, hardworking attitude with the ability to thrive under pressure
  • Flexibility, discipline, and a keen eye for detail
  • Pastry experience would be a bonus
