Practice Facilities & Teaching Studio
The driving range is 300 metres long and has a fully grassed tee deck with seven target greens. The range caters for even the longest hitters and has an Ezline Tee strip at the back of the tee offering perfect golf conditions 365 days of the year. The driving range is open to the public and golf balls can be purchased from the golf shop.
Token purchases can be made in the golf shop. The driving range is open daily from 7.30am till 5pm
Short Game Facility
Our short game facility offers every possible chipping, pitching and bunker combination. Every effort has been made to prepare you for playing our courses with course-like green speed, swales and green side run offs to provide consistent conditions throughout.
The short game facility is for members, their guests and green fee players only.

I have been involved in the golf industry all of my working life, and had the privilege of working at some of the best courses throughout New Zealand. As a young golfer I have represented New Zealand internationally and played interprovincial events for Otago and Southland. Scoring par at St Andrews in the World Schools Finals and finishing second has been my most memorable golfing experience to date. Keeping up to date with the latest in hardware technology and development is a passion, with club fitting, building and repair a speciality of mine.

I am in my second year of the NZPGA trainee apprenticeship programme and I enjoy coaching junior golf and using my extensive training to get the best out of young athletes. The teaching Studio at Wainui is a purpose built instruction, fitting and teaching facility. The building offers video and flight scope technology able to film and measure a club’s position in the swing, ball speed, shaft and face angle and give the golfer accurate shot information in a perfectly controlled environment no matter what the weather.
The Studio at Wainui is designed to make improving your golf game and having your equipment custom fitted a seamless process. Preferred suppliers of Titleist, Ping, Mizuno & Taylor Made.
Our professionals are available seven days a week to help you in all areas of the game. With the use of the amazing facilities on offer, every part of your game can be improved.
Lesson packs - Work through a swing change, learn the game from the ground up or build a more consistent short game.

Individual lessons – Whether you're a beginner or avid golfer, our PGA Professionals will customize an individual program to improve your golf and increase your enjoyment.

- 1 hour lesson - $120
At Wainui we encourage junior golf with programmes to develop skills at all levels. Golf teaches respect, discipline and patience and is a great game for young people. The new course and facilities at Wainui offer the perfect training ground to learn the game of golf.
The Junior Introduction and Junior Development programmes are 8-week courses that run in conjunction with the school terms.
